→ Homemade Salad Dressing Recipe: Basic Vinaigrette Dressing

In order to live a clean and healthy lifestyle, Everlast Weight Loss participants should stay away from store bought salad dressings. Not only are they filled with Cancer causing chemicals, they are also filled with sugar and trans fats which can derail your progress in the program.

The whole point of this program is to DETOX YOUR BODY and RESET YOUR DIGESTION so putting processed dressing on your gorgeous meal defeats the purpose. I only eat homemade salad dressing and have used all these recipes and love them all. Mix it up and keep that variety going!

An acceptable portion of salad dressing on your meals is no more than two (2) tablespoons.

If you use high quality oils, you can rest assured that you are doing the right thing for your body and for your progress in the program.

Ingredients and Measurement:

3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar. Keep this mind so your dressing always yummy.

This can be adjusted to your taste preference once you get the hang of it, but around the 3:1 ratio is where it’s at for vinaigrette.  Feel free to add a combination of various fresh ingredients to achieve the flavor you are craving.  For example, any citrus juices will do and they will add amazing flavor to your dressing. Lemon, lime, orange and/or grapefruit will do.  I also suggest fresh dried herbs and spices to change up the flavor. A pinch of sea salt, garlic, shallots, ginger maybe, ground black pepper are great additions to this recipe. 

3 Ways to Mix the Dressing:

1) Jar it – 3:1 ratio, some herbs, a little garlic, citrus if necessary, throw it in a glass jar and shake. Done.

2) Whisk it – same as above, only throw it all in a bowl and whisk it, save the oil for last and drizzle it in slowly as you whisk

3) Blend it – same as the first, only throw it all in a blender or food processor, also save the oil for last, and as you blend, slowly pour in the oil.

All of the dressings below can be made any 3 ways. Whichever way you prefer or have time for, they are all quick, cheaper and healthier than buying from the store, (organic or not) because your ingredients are fresh.

Store: In a glass bottle or jar for up to 1 week.
